The final project for COM-535 culminated in a presentation geared towards news industry leaders discussing the need for journalists of color in positions of authority across all news modalities. Drawing from experiences I had as a collegiate journalist at a Predominantly White Institution (PWI), I explored the challenges faced by journalists of color that were impacting the stories being written and offered research-informed solutions. This piece demonstrates my professional ability to approach sensitive topics with professionalism and research-informed answers.
